President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced new priorities for the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine. He said this during the opening of the meeting, Komersant ukrainskyi reports.
First of all, the President emphasised the ability of the structure to predict processes.
“The first thing is more predictability, this particular function. We need to strengthen Ukraine’s ability to predict and influence the processes on which the national security of our country depends,”
– said the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.
The President also stressed the need for changes in the areas of cybersecurity and information. He believes that the National Security and Defence Council has a greater potential to protect against enemy destabilisation operations and coordinate all state institutions in this area.
Three other priorities named by Zelenskyy are the continuation and strengthening of the body’s current functions.
“The second is the continuation of all current tasks of the NSDC system. And especially with regard to the sanctions policy of our state. The third is doctrinal work. The clarity of national guidelines and consistency in their implementation is what is needed both now and after the war… And fifthly, the work of the Security Council, drafting decisions, monitoring the implementation of decisions – all of this, of course, must continue. The obvious priority is the defence of our state and the protection of our society,”
– zelenskyy said.
on 26 March, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Oleksiy Danilov from the post of NSDC Secretary and appointed Oleksandr Lytvynenko as the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SZR). Prior to that, the President changed the composition of the National Securityand Defence Council. It was reported that Danilov would go to Norway to work as an ambassador, but the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry is not aware of this.
