Tesla leaves the top ten most expensive companies in the US
8 March 11:09Tesla Inc. has dropped out of the top 10 most expensive US companies by market capitalisation for the first time in 13 months, giving way to Visa Inc, Kommersant Ukrainian with reference to MarketWatch.
The capitalisation of the American electric car manufacturer Tesla on Wednesday fell by 2.3% to $553 billion, which dropped the company to 11th place in the list of the most expensive companies in the United States.
Visa Inc. with a market capitalisation of $563 billion moved up to 10th place.
Over the past three sessions, Tesla shares have fallen by 13%, and by 29% since the beginning of the year, amid concerns about supply in 2024 due to weakness in the Chinese and EU electric vehicle markets.
At the same time, Visa’s shares have remained relatively resilient, up about 8% this year and 24% over 12 months. The share price is less than 2% below its all-time closing high of $285.63, reached on 28 February. The company is also benefiting from continued growth in travel to and from China and accelerating growth in inbound travel to the US.
