The Kyiv Defence Council held an emergency meeting and adopted a number of decisions to enhance the security of the city’s residents. This was reported by the Kyiv City Military Administration, Komersant ukrainskyi reports.
The head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Serhiy Popko, said that the reason for the meeting of the City Defence Council was the recent statements by the leaders of the aggressor country about their intention to increase the number of missile attacks aimed at civilian objects and civilians in Ukraine and Kyiv in particular.
“This is confirmed by the latest missile attacks with the use of weapons with the shortest arrival time,”
– popko said.
He also said that the threat of attempts by enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups (SRGs) to infiltrate the city, involve Russian intelligence agents and other hostile elements to destabilise the situation in the capital cannot be ruled out.
The Kyiv Defence Council made the following decisions:
- Immediately work out the issue of holding further events in Kyiv that involve a large number of people.
- To revise the regulatory and administrative documents on the life of the capital’s citizens regarding the operation of public transport, sports, cultural, educational, medical, and entertainment events, as well as in crowded places to ensure the safety of citizens.
- All law enforcement and military structures of the city of Kyiv, in accordance with their powers, to increase attention to crowded places, to ensure public safety and order in the capital. Ensure that all necessary measures are taken to ensure the safety of Kyiv citizens.
- All responsible structures and balance holders of civil defence facilities should ensure that people have constant access to shelters and that the “points of no return” are ready for use.
- Social media will also be monitored for the spread of disinformation, provocations and other information aimed at destabilising the situation in Kyiv.
It should be noted that the Russian occupiers, after a pause of 44 days, launched another missile attack on Kyiv. The enemy used X-101/X-555/X-55 cruise missiles from Tu-95MS strategic bombers and ballistic missiles from the territory of Russia.
