In March, the ANC pharmacy chain donated almost UAH 2 million to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine, IDPs and children affected by the hostilities.
Zaporizhzhia is the hometown of ANC pharmacy chain. Unfortunately, the city is often subjected to large-scale Russian shelling, and the Zaporizhzhia direction is one of the hottest spots on the frontline. That is why the ANC pharmacy chain donated its largest donation for this month – UAH 1 million – to the Come Back Alive charity fund, which purchased a Leleka-100 unmanned aerial vehicle for the military performing combat missions in the Zaporizhzhia sector.
The Leleka-100 UAV is a development of the Ukrainian company DeViRo, which helps perform aerial reconnaissance, patrolling and mapping tasks. The ANC pharmacy chain also purchased quadcopters worth UAH 280,000 for the Azov regiment and the 37th Boryspil Regional Military District battalion.
An important task for the ANC pharmacy chain is to support family members of the company’s employees serving in the army, as well as mobilised employees. The company continues to pay salaries to employees who have joined the army and provides them with the necessary items for service and combat missions. For example, ANC pharmacy chain transferred UAH 45 thousand to a pharmacy manager’s collection at the request of her military husband. He and his colleagues needed two electronic warfare systems to protect them from enemy UAVs. The company’s donation fully covered the cost of the second electronic warfare system. In addition, the company purchased ammunition for one of its employees who is currently at the front line.
Unfortunately, medicines are always a pressing need at the frontline. A sufficient supply of quality medicines is critical to provide first aid to the wounded and to maintain the health of the military in general. At the request of one of the company’s mobilised employees, ANC transferred medicines worth almost UAH 100,000 to the Kharkiv region for one of the Border Guard Service units.
In addition to meeting the needs of the military, ANC’s pharmacy network also meets humanitarian needs. As part of the campaign “Caring for our future – Dress a child”, the company purchased spring clothes for children who lost their homes as a result of the war, orphans and children with disabilities. The charitable foundation “Mutual Aid Centre “Let’s Save Ukraine” asked ANC to provide medicines for the Hope and Recovery Centres. Since the first days of the war, the foundation has been evacuating vulnerable and unprotected people from the hot spots. At present, they are focused on evacuating orphans from large families, families with children with disabilities and seriously ill children from hospitals in all regions. The evacuees are provided with temporary shelter at the Centres of Hope and Recovery. The ANC donated UAH 80,000 worth of medicines to meet the needs of pensioners, IDP families and orphans.
IDPs and low-income people in the Zolochiv community received monthly assistance in the form of food packages worth UAH 98 thousand. The Kharkiv region is now actively resisting enemy aggression. Traditionally, vulnerable groups of people in the context of hostilities require special attention and support, including in meeting their basic needs.
