From the centre of Kyiv, British Defence Secretary Grant Shapps called on the world to support Ukraine in order to win the unprovoked war waged by Russia against it. The video was posted on the social network X, Kommersant Ukrainian reports 
British Defence Secretary Grant Shapps has arrived on a working visit to Ukraine.
“I am in Kyiv to sound the alarm, because what would it mean if we allowed a dictator like Putin to take over a democratic country? What would that say about our values of freedom and democracy?” – shapps said while standing on Mykhailivska Square in Kyiv.
Shapps called on Western countries to help Ukraine win the war.
“It doesn’t have to be this way, because we can easily raise the resources we need in the West if we want to. So my message is simple: this is a call to the world to wake up. Let’s make sure that Ukraine wins this war,”
– said Grant Shapps.
In his post, he noted that the UK has done more than ever by providing Ukraine with the largest military support package to date.
“Now every country must do the same and ensure that freedom triumphs over tyranny,”
– shapps concluded.
It should be noted that the UK has allocated £125 million ($160 million) to finance more than 10,000 drones for Ukraine.
