In London, five war horses of the Royal Guard were frightened by construction noise and fled into the city centre, throwing off their riders. At least four people were injured in the incident, and several cars collided. This was reported by the Associated Press, according to Komersant ukrainskyi
It all started with a routine exercise near the main residence of King Charles III, which the Royal Horse Guards were conducting for the upcoming major military parade. Construction work was underway near the training site.
Frightened by the noise, five of the seven horses broke away and ran through the city centre, throwing four riders off.
Three of the guardsmen were later taken to hospital with injuries.
For some time, horses without riders roamed the main roads in the centre of London, causing a number of accidents.
For example, a frightened horse broke a window in a taxi waiting near Buckingham Palace, and damaged the windscreen of a parked double-decker tourist bus.
Some eyewitnesses initially thought the incident was part of a film shoot after horses, one of which was apparently bleeding, raced past them.
Soon all the horses were caught.
One of the horses had a red, blood-like substance on its front part. According to Megan Morra, a Londoner on her way to work, one of the animals had a head injury.
All the animals have been returned to their stalls and provided with medical care. The extent of the horses’ injuries is unknown.
