Estonia intends to sign a bilateral agreement on security guarantees with Ukraine.

This was stated by Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tahkna during a press conference in Vilnius, Kommersant Ukrainian reports.

“We are going to sign a bilateral agreement between Estonia and Ukraine for long-term commitments,” said Tsakhkna.

The minister also reminded that Estonia has invested 1.4% of GDP in military support for Ukraine and will continue to do so. In particular, next week the country is to approve a new military aid package for Kyiv.

“When we sign a bilateral agreement between Estonia and Ukraine, we promise and commit to allocate 0.25% of GDP per year for military support,” he said.

In addition, Tsahkna called on other Western countries to make the same commitment, which would allow Ukraine to count on €120 billion in military support per year.

To date, Ukraine has signed security agreements with Britain, Germany, France, Denmark, Italy, Canada and the Netherlands.
