The Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Rob Bauer, has arrived to take part in the Kyiv Security Forum, which is taking place today, Komersant ukrainskyi reports
At the forum, the NATO official said that Ukraine and NATO are closer than ever.
“My visit is the first NATO military delegation since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion. This is evidence that NATO and Ukraine are closer than ever… And we are getting closer every day. Together, we are doing everything we can to ensure that Ukraine becomes a NATO member. The Swedish flag will not be the only yellow and blue flag at our headquarters,”
– the military official said.
He called for rejecting excessive pessimism when assessing the events in the Russian-Ukrainian war:
“In 2023, the world was too optimistic. Now we must avoid the same mistake and not be too pessimistic.”
The NATO official is convinced that Ukraine needs more support.
“You need our help. NATO member states and other countries around the world are really providing unprecedented support to Ukraine. It has really made a difference. But Ukraine needs even more support,”
