on 13 March 2024, the Ukrainian National Bar Association will host a roundtable discussion on “Post-War Elections in Ukraine: Problems, Challenges, Solutions”. This is reported by the Ukrainian National Bar Association, Kommersant Ukrainian reports
The event is organised by the UNBA Committee on Electoral Law.
Issues for discussion:
- the possibility/impossibility of holding the first post-war parliamentary elections in certain territories of Ukraine and its impact on the electoral system to be used in such elections;
- the possibility of applying the current electoral system for the first post-war parliamentary elections, taking into account the risk of their impossibility in certain territories of Ukraine;
- options for improving the electoral system for the first post-war parliamentary elections (if held in Ukraine and abroad), taking into account the known risks of their organisation and conduct.
The event will be moderated by Alla Basalaeva, Head of the UNBA Election Law Committee.
Representatives of the Central Election Commission of Ukraine are invited to participate in the roundtable.
The event will start at 11:00 a.m. online and will be broadcast on the Zoom platform and the NAAU’s Facebook page.
