UAF control up to 40-50% of Toretsk territory
11 October 13:15Ukraine’s armed forces continue to control up to 40-50% of the territory of Toretsk, Donetsk region. This was stated by the head of the Toretsk city military administration Vasyl Chynchyk during a national telethon , Komersant Ukrainian reports.
“Approximately 40-50% of the city can be said to be under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The rest of the territory is captured by the enemy. And the enemy is trying and making every effort to completely capture the city as soon as possible. However, the Ukrainian Armed Forces and resistance forces are giving a worthy fight back and holding their positions to the best of their ability,” he said.
According to Chynchyk, the Russians failed to make any headway in the city yesterday.
“As of yesterday, not a single advance or capture of a single position was recorded, and not a single building, residential development or critical infrastructure facility on the territory of the community was destroyed,” the MVA chief said.
He stressed that the Russians are making efforts to capture the town as soon as possible.
Chynchyk also stressed that the evacuation of civilians from the city continues, albeit with considerable difficulties. Currently, the security situation in Toretsk allows it to be carried out only “at certain intervals”, during “lulls”.
According to him, about 1,150 people remain in the city. Yesterday, 7 people were evacuated from the community, three of whom were evacuated with the help of the police, and 4 more with the assistance of the military.
According to the morning report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy, with the support of aviation, carried out eight attacks in the Toretsk sector yesterday. They concentrated their efforts in the areas of Toretsk and Shcherbynivka. A total of 169 combat engagements were registered in the frontline yesterday.
It should be noted that the situation at the front remains difficult: Russia keeps attacking.
Ukrainian troops withdrew from the town of Vuhledar in Donetsk region under the pressure of the superior forces of the Russian invaders.
