Food prices have risen in Ukraine. Especially for dairy products and meat, reports Komersant ukrainskyi reports with reference to the data of the State Statistics Service.
Prices for dairy products rose the most, by 17.8%, and for meat by 16.4%.
In the production of food, beverages, and tobacco products, wholesale prices increased by 10.5%. In Ukraine – by 10.8%, abroad – by 9.2%.
In addition, prices for industrial products increased by 2.2% compared to July. The fastest annual growth in prices for services was recorded in the energy sector – 56.2%. The price index also increased year-on-year in the mining industry by 7.4% and in the manufacturing industry by 9.2%.
As explains mP Nina Yuzhanina explains, we have a chain reaction of higher prices for goods by producers. And in October-November, prices will also be put under pressure by an increase in the excise tax on fuel.
