Ukraine’s women’s national team qualifies for the second round of the Euro 2025 playoffs

Ukraine’s national football team has successfully overcome the first round of the playoffs for the women’s Euro 2025 qualifying tournament. In the return match, Volodymyr Pyatenko’s wards proved their superiority over the players from Turkey. After a 1-1 draw in Istanbul, the “blue and yellow” team hosted rivals in the Moldovan capital Chisinau.

The fate of reaching the next stage was decided in the first half: first, the Turkish national team scored an own goal, and then our girls scored – the author of the goal was Lyubov Shmatko, who, interestingly, plays in the Turkish championship.

2-0 – a victory for the Ukrainians, who are heading to the decisive duel.

Our team made it to the second round of the playoffs, where they will meet Belgium, which knocked out Greece (0:0, 5:0) in two games. The matches of this stage will take place on November 27 – December 3.

In the second round of the playoffs, 14 national teams will directly compete for seven tickets to the final tournament of Euro 2025, where a total of 16 participants will play:

  • Portugal – Czech Republic
  • Scotland – Finland
  • Ukraine – Belgium
  • Wales – Ireland
  • Poland – Austria
  • Northern Ireland – Norway
  • Serbia – Sweden

The draw for the final tournament will take place at on December 16.
