Horrific consequences of Russia’s strike on Odesa: casualties, damaged high-rise buildings

Two people were killed and five others injured in a Russian air attack in Odesa the night before. The drone strike damaged high-rise buildings, a supermarket, and a school. This was reported by the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, and Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
Residential buildings and civilian infrastructure have been damaged in different districts of Odesa. Fires have broken out, and there are reports of injuries.
“Residential high-rise buildings, private houses, a supermarket, a school and cars were damaged as a result of the enemy attack. In some places, fires broke out and are being extinguished by our rescuers. The strike killed two people and injured five others,” Kiper said.
The head of the UMA added that medics are providing all the necessary assistance to the victims.
“The liquidation of the aftermath of the strike continues. Tents are being deployed to provide additional assistance,” Kiper said.
In addition, he showed footage of the consequences of enemy drone strikes on Odesa on the night of May 1.
In his turn, the mayor of Odesa said that there are reports of injuries in the city after the air attack. According to Trukhanov, three people have already been hospitalized.
“An elderly couple who lived on the top floor of the house with their sheepdog Jack has not been in touch. Their children reported no contact. Operational and municipal services are working on the ground to eliminate the consequences of the attacks and provide the necessary medical care to the victims. Three people are currently hospitalized,” said Trukhanov.
He emphasized that the school also suffered minor damage as a result of the strike – four windows were smashed. Nevertheless, it is open to anyone who needs support, and “hot tea will be poured there to keep you warm.” Tents are being set up locally to provide additional assistance.
