Zelenskyy is confident that Trump will be able to put an end to Putin’s aggression
1 January 00:39President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy is confident that newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump will be able to end Russia’s large-scale military aggression after his inauguration and take office. And they are able to force the Kremlin to a just peace together. This was reported by Komersant ukrainskyi with reference to the President’s New Year’s address.
“I thank all Americans for putting these words into action. I have no doubt that the new American President is willing and able to bring peace and put an end to Putin’s aggression,” Zelenskyy said.
He noted that Trump understands that the former is impossible without the latter.
“Because this is not a street fight where you need to pacify the two sides. This is a full-scale aggression of a crazy state against a civilized one,” he said.
Zelenskyy also believes that together with the United States, “we are capable of this power”: to force Russia to a just peace.
“That is, not to forget and not to zero out everything that Russia has done. Bucha, Olenivka, Avdiivka, all our destroyed towns and villages. That’s why a truly just peace cannot come on the principle of “let’s start from scratch.” Because the score is not 0:0. The score is thousands and thousands of Ukrainians whose lives were stolen by Russia,” the Ukrainian president summarized.
