President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to a statement by White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt, who said that US President Donald Trump was “losing patience.”

Zelensky reacted to these words during his press conference with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

The day before, during a conversation with journalists, Levitt urged Zelensky to refrain from commenting on the details of the negotiations in front of journalists. This happened after he rejected the recognition of Crimea as Russian at a briefing as part of a potential peace deal.

According to the White House spokeswoman, Trump wants to end the Russian-Ukrainian war, but now, she said, “he is running out of patience.”

At the press conference, Zelenskyy said that Russia should stop massive strikes on Ukraine if it declares a ceasefire. In this context, he mentioned Levitt’s statement.

“I don’t know what’s going on inside, but it’s the Ukrainians who are going to lose their patience. Because we are under attack, no one else. I don’t wish this on anyone, but we are under attack from Russian missiles,” the Ukrainian president said.

Earlier, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance said that Ukraine and Russia must agree to the peace proposal proposed by America, otherwise Washington will withdraw from the negotiations.

Later, Trump himself said something similar: according to him, Russia is ready to conclude a peace agreement and “wants to end the war,” and now it is time to reach an agreement with Ukraine.

“I thought it would be easier to negotiate with [Ukrainian President Volodymyr] Zelenskyy, but it turned out to be more difficult,” he said.
