Zelensky compares Russia to Iran: here’s what awaits Putin

Russia has openly demonstrated its desire to continue the war against Ukraine, but Russian dictator Vladimir Putin can see from the example of Iran what it means for such regimes. This is stated in the evening address of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

According to him, he instructed Ukrainian officials to prepare additional opportunities for cooperation within the “coalition of the resolute” that will help strengthen Europe’s security architecture.

“Today, the Russians again said quite openly and absolutely cynically that they “do not want” to go to a ceasefire. Russia wants to fight. It threatens with something else. This means that they are not yet hurt by the pressure from the world. Or they are trying very hard to make it look that way,” the president said.

The Ukrainian president reminded that the Kremlin no longer hides its intention to continue fighting, which indicates either that Western pressure is not yet having the expected effect or that the Russian authorities are trying to show the appearance of resilience.

“The Russian economy is already degrading. We will support this process even more. Ayatollah Putin can see from his friends in Iran what such regimes come to and how backward they bring their country. There will be more of our solutions to restore security,” Zelensky summarized.
