The bill stipulates that entrance exams for bachelor’s programs will include testing in four subjects.
Three NMT subjects will be compulsory: Ukrainian Language, Mathematics, and History of Ukraine.
The applicant will be able to choose one subject of his or her choice: Foreign Language, Biology, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, or Ukrainian Literature.
This gives students the opportunity to choose the subject that best suits their specialty or interests.
In addition, according to the law, in 2025, school graduates will be exempt from the state final examination.
Competitive selection for study will be based on the results of the entrance exams in 2022-2025.
What is NMT?
NMT is an analog of the external independent testing (EIT) used in Ukraine for university admission.
The NMT format was developed in connection with the military operations on the territory of Ukraine. Its goal is to ensure access to education and the admission process even in an emergency situation.
The NMT helps to avoid massive crowds of applicants and shorten the time for exams.
