President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed Law No. 3910-IX “On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On Medicines” on Labelling of Medicines”, which was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on 21 August 2024. It is reported by Komersant ukrainskyi

The law prohibits advertising of medicines on packaging. The boxes of medicines will not be allowed to contain any information that persuades people to buy them, for example, advertising them as particularly effective or extremely useful.
The packaging may mention the manufacturer and the holder of the registration certificate, as well as provide information on the use of the medicinal product.
In addition, the draft law prohibits the importation into Ukraine and sale of medicines with information on the packaging about companies that are not manufacturers or holders of the registration certificate for these medicines.
The ban does not apply to:
- medicines imported to Ukraine as humanitarian aid;
- medicinal products imported into the territory of Ukraine with labelling and instructions for use/brief description of the medicinal product in the original language (other than the state language), based on the results of a procurement conducted by a person authorised to carry out procurement in the healthcare sector or authorised to carry out such procurement at the expense of local budgets and/or based on the results of a procurement procedure conducted by a specialised procurement organisation pursuant to an agreement between it and the Ministry of Health;
- unregistered medicinal products that may be imported into the customs territory of Ukraine for
- transit through the territory of Ukraine or placement in the customs regime of a customs warehouse;
- conducting preclinical studies of pharmaceutical development and clinical trials;
- registration of medicinal products in Ukraine;
- exhibiting at exhibitions, fairs, conferences, etc. without the right to sell;
- medical support (without the right to sell) of units of the armed forces of other states that are admitted to the territory of Ukraine in accordance with the law;
- treatment of rare (orphan) diseases by the decision of the central executive body responsible for the formation of state policy in the field of healthcare;
- individual use.
