President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has enacted a decision of the National Security and Defence Council (NSDC) extending sanctions against individuals and legal entities cooperating with Russia. The relevant decree is posted on the president’s website, Komersant ukrainskyi reports
The decision to extend the sanctions against Guzhva, Shariy and their affiliated legal entities was made by the NSDC on 21 August 2024.
“To put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine of 21 August 2024 “On the application, cancellation and amendment of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions)”, the document says.
The NSDC decision extends the restrictions on pro-Russian media figures for another 10 years, including
- ihor Guzhva, editor-in-chief of the Strana newspaper; Anna Solntseva, Lyubov Lukashina,
- Anatoliy Shariy, his wife Olga Shariy (Bondarenko) and his mother-in-law Alla Bondarenko,
- denis Pushilin, leader of the DPR terrorist organisation, and their affiliated companies and assets.
The decree provides for the cancellation or suspension of licences and other permits that are a condition for carrying out certain activities, a ban on the transfer of technology and intellectual property rights, and blocking access to web resources and social media pages associated with the listed persons. In particular, access to the website Strana.ua and its subdomains, as well as the websites Shariy.net, Shariy’s Political Party and their respective pages on social networks, should be terminated.
Among legal entities, sanctions were extended for Shariy.Net LLC, the Foundation for the Study of Historical Perspectives, Business News Media, Lasmak LLC, Mageri LLC, Smart Media Network LLC, Versiya LLC, ANNA News LLC, ERA Media LLC, SKEPTIC LLC and others. Their assets, domains and sub-domains, websites have been blocked and they are prohibited from using the radio frequency spectrum of Ukraine.
