Ukraine continues to restore energy facilities after several massive Russian strikes. The deficit in the system is expected to decrease. This was said by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during an evening video message, reports Komersant ukrainskyi
“There were also today reports of the Minister of energy. On the restoration after the Russian strikes. Maximum work repair crews, necessary utilities and state structures. Should reach the reduction of the deficit. And I thank everyone who is working for this,” Zelensky noted.
The President added that today he met with a delegation of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
“Thanked for the support of our society, our state. And we will continue to do everything for Ukraine to increase its potential and strengthen its independence in everything,” he said.
What is the situation in the energy system today
Over the past 24 hours, the enemy has carried out one of the largest-scale shelling of energy facilities. As a result, the transmission system operator had to resort to emergency power cuts to consumers in order to maintain and stabilise the situation in the system.
The facilities are now continuing to deal with the aftermath of the attack, clearance and repair work. Restoration work will continue around the clock. A large-scale repair campaign is also ongoing, power engineers are working to ensure the stability and integrity of the energy system and prepare it for the autumn-winter period.
