Losses of 300 million: Kyivavtodor CEO is notified of suspicion

The general director of Kyivavtodor and the former head of the Solomianskyi district’s road maintenance department have been served with a notice of suspicion in connection with causing damage worth almost UAH 300 million, the citing the Strategic Investigations Department of the National Police of Ukraine.

The defendants are suspected of official negligence.

In particular, the offenders transported various types of waste to a land plot that was intended exclusively for the accumulation of snow collected on the streets of the capital.

“During 2022-2023, officials of the Solomianskyi district of Kyiv, on the instructions of their supervisor, transported various types of waste to a land plot intended exclusively for the accumulation of snow collected on the streets of Kyiv. In his turn, the head of Kyivavtodor, due to his negligent attitude to his official duties, allowed the controlled enterprise to carry out actions that led to the contamination of the site with waste and materials harmful to people and the environment,”

– the police said.

In this regard, during the inspection of the land plot with the involvement of specialists from the State Ecological Inspectorate of the Capital District, scrap metal, solid household waste, plastic and motor vehicle waste were found.

“As a result, the state suffered losses of almost UAH 300 million,”

– the statement said.

At the same time, the general director of Kyivavtodor and the former head of the district road service were notified of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 367 (official negligence) and Part 2 of Article 239 (pollution or damage to land) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing under the procedural supervision of the Solomianskyi District Prosecutor’s Office.
