2 years after the “drug” accident, MP Ariev’s daughter has not been sentenced

Almost two years after the scandalous accident, the daughter of MP Volodymyr Ariev, Yaryna, has not been sentenced to any punishment. Moreover, her house arrest and other preventive measures have not even been extended. This was reported by Glavkom with reference to the court registry, according to Komersant ukrainskyi

According to the publication, today, on November 4, Yaryna Aryeva’s house arrest and other obligations to the court expire. There is no extension of the preventive measure. Thus, starting tomorrow, Aryeva will not be restricted by any preventive measure. In particular, she will be able to drive again.

On November 27, 2022, according to the investigation, Yaryna Aryeva, daughter of Ukrainian MP Volodymyr Aryev and a member of the Kyiv City Council, “while driving a Volkswagen Polo while under the influence of drugs, committed an accident” in Kyiv. In May 2023, she was served a notice of suspicion.

“Approaching an unregulated pedestrian crossing, the woman, realizing that the state she was in affected her attention and reaction, failed to assess the change in the road situation and ran over a female pedestrian on a zebra, causing her serious bodily harm,”

– the Kyiv Prosecutor’s Office reported at the time.

As a result of the accident, the woman sustained fractures of the humerus and jaw with traumatic extraction of teeth, fractures of the limbs, a closed head injury and other injuries.

Commenting on the accident involving his daughter, MP Vladimir Aryev claimed that it was allegedly revenge for his active criticism of the authorities.

Aryeva herself pleaded guilty to causing the accident, but denied that she was under the influence of drugs.
