Over 10 years of war, the frontline has received more than a million turnstiles made in Ukraine
11 December 17:10In 10 years, SICH Ukraine has produced and supplied more than a million turnstiles to the frontline, growing from 100 units per month in the first year to more than 100,000 units per month today. The company donated more than 100,000 SiCh-Bandage and 30,000 SICH turnstiles to the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
Unlike others, SICH-Tourniquet is not a copy of foreign products, but has a completely new, original and patented design. The company was founded at the beginning of the war in 2014 as a response to the critical need for tourniquets at the front.
“While doing volunteer work, we realized that Ukraine should have its own tools and not depend on foreign supplies. That’s how our business was born, and on our 10th anniversary we can confidently say that we have succeeded,” comments Oleksandr Gadomskyi, the company’s founder.
To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Sich Ukraine, the largest Ukrainian turnstile manufacturer, presented the premiere of a documentary film that revealed the details of the company’s production for the first time. The company has also become the exclusive representative of the American company Compression Works and is introducing a new product for the Ukrainian market – an abdominal tourniquet.
Since 2016, SICH-Tourniquet has been a mandatory part of the Armed Forces’ first aid kits due to its adaptability to extreme conditions: even when heavily contaminated, the tourniquet’s velcro has the highest adhesion rate, unlike any other analogues. The company is an official supplier of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the National Guard and the police.
A big problem in Ukraine is that a standard tourniquet cannot be applied to thin limbs, such as those of women or search dogs. As of September 2024, 68,000 women serve in the Armed Forces, according to information from the State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, Liudmyla Darahan. As of 2023, the canine service has approximately 1,000 dogs, which are involved in the protection of military airfields, bases, warehouses and arsenals, as well as mine-search operations. That is why Sich Ukraine has developed the most versatile turnstile that can be applied to thin limbs with a diameter of 5 cm or less.
The turnstiles have proven their reliability not only in Ukraine but also received high praise from partners in Germany:
“The SICH-Tourniquet was not officially introduced to the army right away, it was a difficult journey. But in the end, the quality, reliability and reasonable price compared to foreign hemostatic turnstiles won out,” emphasizes Oleksandr Gadomskyi, “Our turnstile is not just a Ukrainian product, but a symbol of reliability that is becoming part of international history. We are currently working on a German order. They have recognized our product, trusted us and have been working with us systematically for quite some time: they buy our turnstiles, form first aid kits and transfer them to the Ukrainian Armed Forces as support from Germany.”
The company’s achievements in numbers:
- More than UAH 6.5 million has been donated as part of charitable assistance for REBs, FPVs, Starlinks, EMPs, etc. over the entire period of the company’s operations. More than 1.5 million of this amount was allocated to purchase boats for the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
- Almost 2 million high-quality turnstiles have been manufactured, 1 million of which have been produced in the last two years alone.
- More than 100,000 SiCh-Bandage hemostatic bandages and 30,000 SICH turnstiles were donated to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, only upon official requests from military units and foundations.
Among the partners are Serhiy Prytula’s charitable foundations, Come Back Alive, Solomianski Kotyky, Leleka, and the international volunteer logistics center Marlog.
The company continues to develop, staying true to its mission to save lives. Today, Sich Ukraine is not only the largest Ukrainian manufacturer of turnstiles and a symbol of reliability and innovation in tactical medicine, but also has every chance of becoming a global leader in this field.
“We thank all our partners, volunteers and defenders for their trust and support. Together we are creating a story that inspires and unites. 10 years is just the beginning,” summarized the company’s founder.
