Ukrainian high jumper Yaroslava Maguchikh won the Diamond League final for the third time in a row. This was reported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Maguchikh won the competition in Brussels, Belgium, with a mark of 1.97m. She reached this height on the first attempt, while her closest competitor, Australian Nicola Olislagers, did so only on the second.
Then both athletes stormed the height of 2.01 m, but without success.
Another representative of Ukraine in this final, the bronze medallist of the 2024 Olympic Games, Iryna Gerashchenko, took third place with a result of 1.92 m.
Earlier this year, at the Diamond League in Paris, Yaroslava Maguchikh set a world record in the high jump with a height of 2.10 metres.
As a reminder, Yaroslava Maguchikh won a gold medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
The Ukrainian will receive $125,000 in prize money for the victory.
Maguchikh previously announced that she would use part of the money to help the Ukrainian Defence Forces, a psychological support fund and animal shelters.
