Christmas tree fairs to open in Kyiv on December 5: list of locations

From December 5 to December 31, official Christmas tree fairs will be open in Kyiv, which will be opened in stages. This was reported by the Department of Industry and Business Development of the Kyiv City State Administration, Komersant ukrainskyi reports

Residents of the capital will be able to buy Christmas trees grown on special plantations of forestry enterprises.

“By buying a Christmas tree on the official site, you not only get a high-quality tree, but also contribute to the development of the city, as the taxes paid are directed to the capital’s budget. We invite Kyiv residents to visit the official fairs and choose a festive tree that will fill your home with joy and warmth on New Year’s Eve,” said Volodymyr Kostikov, director of the department.

He added that buying Christmas trees at official sites is important not only for the transparency of the process, but also for the protection of natural resources and the fight against illegal deforestation.

Last year, the prices for Christmas trees in Kyiv were as follows: 1 meter – from UAH 450, 1.5 meters – from UAH 500. For pines, the prices were as follows: 1 meter – from UAH 300, 1.5 meters – from UAH 350. This year, the Department of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development has not yet announced prices.

On November 22, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that the Christmas tree would be installed on St. Sophia Square on December 2 with the support of patrons.

The grand opening will take place on December 6, St. Nicholas Day. This decision was made by the Kyiv Defense Council after consultations with the military.
