The wives of combatants are entitled to a 75% discount on housing, gas, electricity and other utilities, and for the disabled, the discount is 100%.
For families with all members disabled, the discount on gas for heating is 75% of double the norm for the area.
Children of combatants have priority access to healthcare, priority right to enrol in educational institutions, the possibility of transferring to state-funded education, and the right to a social scholarship.

- to submit documents through a personal account on the Pension Fund’s electronic services web portal.
What payments and benefits is the wife of a serviceman entitled to during his stay in captivity?
The legislation of Ukraine stipulates that family members of servicemen in captivity are entitled to an annual financial allowance of UAH 100,000. The allowance is paid for each year of captivity.
The right to such financial assistance arises after the fact of deprivation of personal liberty is established by the Commission on establishing the fact of deprivation of personal liberty as a result of armed aggression against Ukraine, which is established under the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine.
In addition, the payment of financial support and additional remuneration in the amount of UAH 100,000 (if any) is retained.
The payment of financial support and additional remuneration is carried out from the date of capture of a serviceman to his family members upon their application to the commander of the military unit where the serviceman served. The application is submitted through the Territorial Centre for Manning and Social Support at the place of residence.
In addition, the spouse of a prisoner of war who took part in hostilities is entitled to restructure debt on loans to banks and other financial institutions.
Additional benefits for spouses of combatants
In May 2024, a a new law on mobilisationwhich provides additional benefits to women in the military.
In particular, the document provides for the cancellation of fines and penalties for default, including obligations to banks and individuals, for the wives of mobilised servicemen. Also, no interest will be charged on loans, except for loan agreements for the purchase of real estate or vehicles.
