Today’s combined attack by the Russian Armed Forces targeted Ukraine’s critical infrastructure. Residents in many regions have already experienced interruptions in electricity and water supply.
On Monday, 26 August, [Kommersant] found out how the power outage schedules work.
Kyiv
After the missile and drone attack, emergency blackout schedules were introduced in the capital. The city has set up “invincibility points” where people can charge the gadgets they need. The timing of the emergency blackouts is unknown and depends on how quickly the power company can cope with the consequences of the enemy’s shelling.
Vinnytsia region
Missiles and drones damaged a critical infrastructure facility. Power outages started at 8:30 am. A total of 95 settlements were affected. At 11:20 a.m., the power company managed to provide electricity to them using a backup power supply.
Volyn region
Emergency power outages are in effect. Lutsk and Kovel, as well as Lutsk, Kovel and Kamen-Kashirsky districts, are partially without electricity.
As of 18:00, critical infrastructure facilities and residents of 458 settlements have been restored to power. Currently, villages and towns in Kovel district and Lutsk are partially without power. The power supply is expected to be restored to the homes of their residents by 20:00.
Dnipropetrovska oblast
Emergency power outage schedules are in place. The exact time when electricity will be returned to the homes of residents is unknown. This is due to the fact that power engineers do not know exactly how much electricity needs to be saved. As of 19:00, residents of at least two major cities were without power: Dnipro and Kryvyi Rih.
Zakarpattia region
There are no hourly blackout schedules in this region.
