What car engines Ukrainians chose in 2024

In Ukraine, almost 70 thousand new passenger cars were sold in 2024, and the vast majority of them (over 80%) are equipped with internal combustion engines. This is evidenced by the statistics of the Ukravtoprom Association, [komersanr] reports.
Gasoline cars remain the most popular, but demand for them has fallen sharply over the year: their market share has dropped by 7% to 40%. At the same time, diesel models became slightly more popular.
Hybrids were also bought more and electric cars became more popular, accounting for 14.5% of the car market. However, the share of new cars with LPG in Ukraine remains negligible – only 1%.
The most popular cars in 2024 with different types of engines were also named:
- gasoline cars – Mazda CX-5;
- diesel cars – Renault Duster;
- hybrids – Toyota RAV4;
- electric cars – Volkswagen ID.4;
- hyundai Tucson, a car with a CNG system.
