How banks will work during the New Year holidays: NBU informs customers

The National Bank of Ukraine has explained how the NBU’s electronic payment system (EPS) and banks will operate during the New Year holidays. This was reported by the NBU on Facebook, Komersant ukrainskyi reports

“During this period, as well as throughout 2024, the EPS will operate around the clock 24/7. At the same time, the NBU took into account the request of the State Treasury Service of Ukraine to impose restrictions on the work of the EPS for this institution in connection with the end of the reporting year,” the statement said.

How banks will work on December 30

on December 30, 2024 , the electronic payment system (EPS) will operate unchanged 24/7. Ukraine’s foreign exchange market, the NBU depository, and other NBU systems continue to operate as usual.

Payments in foreign currency through the NBU and JSC Ukreximbank from the State Treasury Service of Ukraine are made until 13:00. Settlements for the repayment and servicing of public debt between the State Treasury Service of Ukraine and the National Bank in national currency will continue until 16:00.

How banks will work on December 31

on December 31, 2024 and January 1, 2025, the EPS will operate as usual 24/7, but payment and information messages from or to the State Treasury Service of Ukraine will not be accepted through the system.

“The banking system, as well as the foreign exchange market of Ukraine, the NBU depository, and other systems of the National Bank operate as usual. In addition, during this period, banks are obliged to provide their cash desks and ATMs with cash of various denominations in advance to ensure proper customer service,” the NBU added.
