The digitalisation of social services today gives future pensioners the opportunity to apply for a pension through the Pension Fund of Ukraine’s web portal without leaving their homes. This is reported by Komersant ukrainskyi with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Social Policy.
“Remote pension application can save time and money, as a person does not need to personally come to the Pension Fund service centre, it is enough to understand the digital interface of the Pension Fund web portal and have the Diia application on their smartphone. This method of applying for a pension, in particular, can help a person who was forced to leave his or her home due to Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine and reached retirement age while already abroad,” the statement said.
Previously, a qualified electronic signature (QES) was required to log in to the personal account on the Pension Fund’s web portal, but now you can also use Diia.Signature.
In order to use the online pension application service, you need to have a smartphone with the Diia application installed and activate Diia.Signature.
The smartphone will be used in parallel with a computer.
You should prepare all the necessary documents by scanning them in advance .
Please note that:
- scanned copies are made from original documents;
- they must be in colour, clear and legible;
- scans should be saved in the formats: JPG or PDF;
- the size of each file should not exceed 1 megabyte;
- scanned copies should be named according to the type of document scanned.
Step-by-step instructions on how to complete an electronic pension application:
- Log in to your personal account on the web portal of electronic services of the Pension Fund of Ukraine (https://portal.pfu.gov.ua/);
- In the upper right corner, click the “Login” button, select the “Log in to the system” option via “Action.Signature”;
- In the new window that opens, click on the “Get a login code” button;
- After that, scan the QR code that appears on the screen (using the QR code scanning option in the Diia app).
Go to the Diia app on your smartphone and point the QR code reader at the square with the QR code; - Click the “Confirm” button;
- Activate Diia.Signature by moving the activation button to the rightmost position;
- Confirm your identity through photo verification, following the phone’s prompts, and click “Next”;
Enter a five-digit code on your phone to apply Diia.Signature. If you are using Diia.Signature for the first time, you need to remember the code; - If all the steps are successful, the request for authorisation via Diia.Signature to log in to the PFU web portal will be confirmed, and the corresponding inscription “Confirmed” will appear on the phone screen.
- You will automatically log in to your personal account on the PFU e-services web portal;
- Next, on the computer in your personal account on the Fund’s web portal, in the “Pension” section, select the “Application for pension” tab;
- Select the type of pension, for example, “Long service pension”;
- Answer the questions in the survey questionnaire to “fill in the attributes of the application” by clicking the “Continue” button;
- Add scanned copies of the required documents (via the “Add file” button) and click the “Create application” button;
Upon completion of all operations, sign the application using Diia.Signature and send it to the Pension Fund of Ukraine by clicking the “Sign and send to PFU” button. - The results of processing the application can be found in the section “My appeals”.
It should be noted that there are currently 10.2 million pensioners in Ukraine, and the average pension is UAH 5,743. More than 60% of pensioners receive a pension of up to UAH 5,000.
Among the regions of Ukraine, Kyiv has the highest pensions – UAH 7,848. This is followed by Rivne (UAH 7,205), Donetsk (UAH 7,017), Luhansk (UAH 6,525) and Dnipro (UAH 6,333) regions.
