Starting in March, the salaries of military cadets will increase several times

The increase in the salaries of cadets of military higher education institutions from next year was discussed during a meeting between Deputy Defense Minister Serhiy Melnyk and cadets of the Hetman Petro Sahaidachny National Army Academy. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Komersant ukrainskyi reports.

According to the official, due to the increase in salaries, the allowance will also increase with the appropriate coefficient.

“Starting from March 2025, cadets of the 1st and 2nd years will receive payments at the level of the minimum wage in Ukraine, which is 8 thousand hryvnias. Cadets of 3-4 years of study, who are equated to contract service, will receive more than 20 thousand hryvnias,” said Serhiy Melnyk.

How much do cadets receive now

The issue of payments to servicemen, rank and file and police officers and their families during martial law is regulated by Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 168.

What about the financial support of military personnel?

Military pay consists of basic and additional payments.

Monthly basic payments: base salary, salary according to military rank, longevity allowance.

Monthly additional payments: salary increases, allowances, surcharges, bonuses, remuneration for servicemen who hold positions related to the direct performance of cybersecurity and cyber defense tasks, as well as remuneration for the peculiarities of service (training) during martial law (special period).

One-time additional payments: allowances and remuneration, as well as additional remuneration and one-time remuneration for the period of martial law.

Additional payments during martial law are established by the Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 168 and vary depending on the tasks performed.
