Former President Donald Trump’s Republican rival Nikki Haley has won the primary in the District of Columbia, where the US capital Washington is located, for the first time. This was reported by the Associated Press, according to Kommersant Ukrainian
Almost 63% of Republicans voted for Haley in the capital district, while 33% voted for Trump. As a result of the vote, Haley received the votes of all 19 electors from the District of Columbia. She will now have 43 electors.
Trump has 247, and in total, during the primaries, Republicans elect 2,429 delegates to the party convention, which will officially announce the presidential candidate in July.
on 5 March, Super Tuesday, the primaries and caucuses of the two leading parties will be held in 15 states and one overseas territory. The fate of 874 Republican electors will be decided.
