11 November 16:49The situation around Kurakhove is deteriorating: the enemy is storming the positions of Ukrainian forces from the north, south, and east, trying to surround the town and take control of the H15 Zaporizhzhia-Donetsk highway. This is reported by the Deep State project, Komersant ukrainskyi reports.
Roman Padun, the head of the Kurakhove City Military Administration, wrote on Facebook today that the territory of Kurakhove and settlements near the city are under constant shelling. Private and apartment buildings have been damaged. According to him, about a thousand residents, mostly elderly people, remain in the Kurakhove community. It is very difficult to evacuate them, but the authorities are trying to do so.
Local Telegram channels also reported that the occupiers had destroyed a dam near the village of Stari Terny in the Kurakhiv community and that water was already flooding the village.
Roman Padun, head of the Kurakhivka military administration, said that it was impossible to inspect the dam because of the shelling, but that water was rising in villages along the Vovcha River.
By the way, The Wall Street Journal claims that the Ukrainian side has previously dismantled the Kurakhivska TPP. This happened after the bridge that supplied coal to the plant was destroyed, making it impossible to operate. Restoring the plant, which is located near the front, was deemed impractical.
Reportedly, the dismantling began in the spring and was completed in the summer. The TPP components were used to restore DTEK’s facilities damaged by Russian shelling. This allowed the company to restore about 60% of its capacity.
