Starting today, May 8, the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection is launching a new area of work – control over the content of job advertisements. This is stated in the report of the agency, "Komersant Ukrainian" informs
It is about monitoring compliance with the legislation on employment advertising. All ads published by employers or recruiting agencies are monitored.
The main focus is on identifying discriminatory wording – by age (“under 35”, “young team”), gender (“only for women/men”), health status, race or ethnicity.
The agency will also monitor for signs of manipulation, such as exaggerated salaries without specifying conditions, omission of important information (such as night shifts or probationary periods), and the use of unclear or misleading wording.
“Employers should review their advertisements now and bring them into compliance with the law. This will not only help avoid fines, but also help maintain the trust of candidates. If you notice any discriminatory or misleading vacancies, record the violation and contact the territorial offices of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection. The labor market should have transparent and equal rules for everyone,” said Andriy Kreitor, Deputy Head of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection.
