The Unified State Open Data Portal data.gov.ua now contains data from the licence register of carriers. This was reported by Komersant ukrainskyi with reference to the Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure.
From now on, anyone can check whether a transport company is operating legally. This applies to the licences of passenger and freight carriers.
The published data contains information on licences issued since 2010. Currently, this includes more than 57,000 licences for the carriage of goods, passengers and international road transport.
The largest number of licences were issued for freight transport by road – 31,646, passenger transport by bus – more than 12,276, and taxi – 9,541.
Licences for the domestic transport of hazardous goods and waste are held by 6,496 companies, and for international transport by 3,864.

The dataset contains a number of information, including the name and EDRPOU code of the carrier, the year for which the permit was issued, the date and time of issuance of the permit, and its details.
Thanks to open data, citizens, businesses and government agencies can
- find and check transport companies for licences within a region, district, community and settlement;
- monitor the issuance of new licences and the cancellation of existing ones
- identify unscrupulous carriers;
- analyse the transport market, study trends and make forecasts;
- create services for searching for carriers, checking licences and the legality of vehicles.
“Access to this data allows for a deeper analysis of the situation with issued and cancelled licences, reducing the share of unscrupulous carriers in the market and scrutinising licences already issued,” the Ministry said.
The published data does not include information that could threaten the national security of Ukraine, the Ministry of Infrastructure noted.
