A teacher who changes the country can get UAH 1 million for his project: how to apply for the award

Ukraine has started accepting applications for the ninth national Global Teacher Prize Ukraine. The aim of the prize is to recognize teachers who implement innovative approaches to education and educate future leaders of Ukraine. The main winner will receive UAH 1,000,000 to implement their own educational project and go to the Global Teacher Prize.
“Success begins with the words of a teacher: “Try it, you can do it!”. Teachers are the ones who notice and discover talents in children that change the world. And today, in Ukraine, in times of war, their support is also a point of support for children. Every child who continues to study is another step towards the revival of the country,”
– said Zoya Lytvyn, the founder of the award.
The prize was founded in 2017 by the Osvitoria NGO and has become an important step in recognizing teachers who make a significant contribution to the development of education in Ukraine.
“The Global Teacher Prize Ukraine not only emphasizes the professional achievements of teachers, but also highlights their role in the development of society,”

In addition to the main award, this year teachers will also be recognized in several additional nominations. According to the organizer, “their footprint is visible in every idea, every project, every business and initiative.”
In addition, in the nomination “Ukrainians’ Choice”, a vote will be held on the Diia.Osvita platform, where every Ukrainian can support their favorite.
How to apply
Nominations for the award can be submitted by teachers themselves, as well as by students, parents, and colleagues. Last year, almost 2000 nominations were submitted to the competition.
Applications for the award can be submitted until July 1 via globalteacherprize.org.ua, and the winners will be announced during a ceremony on October 4, International Teacher’s Day.
