Vatican announces the cause of death of the Pope
21 April 22:46
Pope Francis has died of a stroke and irreversible heart failure. This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Vatican News.
The official medical report on the cause of the pontiff’s death was released by the director of the Vatican’s Office of Health and Hygiene, Professor Andrea Arcangeli.
The conclusion was confirmed by electrocardiographic thanatography (a special ECG recording that is done to prove that the heart has really stopped completely and does not show any signs of life – ed).
The stroke was followed by a coma and irreversible cardiocirculatory collapse (a condition when the heart and blood vessels completely stop working and it is no longer possible to restore their functioning – ed.)
“Cerebral stroke, coma, irreversible cardiovascular collapse. These are the causes of the death of Pope Francis, which occurred today, April 21, at 7.35 am in his home in St. Martha’s House in the Vatican,” the conclusion reads.
The medical document also states that Pope Francis suffered from a previous episode of acute respiratory failure due to bilateral multimicrobial pneumonia, multiple bronchiectasis, hypertension and type II diabetes.
