HACCU banned the sale of Viktor Medvedchuk’s property: the reason is known
26 December 19:45The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) has ruled to ban the sale of seized property associated with Viktor Medvedchuk. This is stated in a message on the official website of the HACC, Komersant ukrainskyi reports.
The court blocked the sale of assets, including items already sold through Prozorro.Sale: a Maybach car, watches, paintings, ATVs and buggies worth more than UAH 10.2 million.
The prohibition was justified by the possible risks of alienation and reduction in the value of assets owned by the defendants or their related companies. The court believes that the sale of these assets may make it impossible to enforce the court decision if the claims for their recovery to the state are satisfied.
At the same time, ARMA has already sold part of this property, and the proceeds were transferred to the state budget of Ukraine. However, the HACC decision calls into question the legality of such procedures in the Prozorro. Sale and undermines confidence in the transparent management of seized assets.
The Agency has already suspended all active auctions to ensure the enforcement of the court decision and is preparing to appeal the ruling in the appellate instance.
“We expect a fair and legitimate decision of the Appeals Chamber that will take into account the interests of the state and society. In this regard, an important question arises: whether the same fate awaits Medvedchuk’s seized yacht Royal Romance, the sale of which will bring billions to the budget,” the ARMA said in a statement.
As a reminder, in April 2022, the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) completed the investigation of the case against Viktor Medvedchuk on suspicion of high treason. In September of the same year, he was exchanged for 55 Russians, 215 Azov and other Ukrainian prisoners.
