From 1 October 2024, the minimum unemployment benefit will increase by UAH 500 – from UAH 2,500 to UAH 3,000. The decision was made by the State Employment Centre of Ukraine. This was announced by Nina Yuzhanina, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy, Komersant ukrainskyi reports
“From 1 October 2024, the minimum unemployment benefit will increase by UAH 500 – from UAH 2,500 to UAH 3,000,” Yuzhanina said.
According to her, the decision taken at the meeting of the Board of the Compulsory State Unemployment Insurance Fund of Ukraine will apply to people with at least 7 months of insurance experience in the last 12 months, as well as registered internally displaced persons.
For people with no insurance record, the amount of the benefit will remain at UAH 1,500.
She reminded that Law 2622 stipulates that during martial law, the duration of unemployment benefit payments cannot exceed 90 calendar days (for persons of pre-retirement age – no more than 360 calendar days).
Previously, the duration of unemployment benefit payments to insured persons did not exceed 360 calendar days (for persons of pre-retirement age – no more than 720 calendar days).
