In April 2025, Ukrainians and local businesses purchased 5.7 thousand new passenger cars, which is 14.6% more than in March this year. This was reported by the Institute for Automotive Market Research, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

Compared to April 2024, the increase is 1.2%. The record set in August last year was more than 8 thousand cars sold.

As usual, most of the new cars – 96.9% or 5,570 units – were imported from abroad. The share of cars produced in Ukraine amounted to 3.1% or 179 units.

What brands and models were most often chosen by buyers

Among the brands, the largest number of cars with Toyota, Volkswagen Skoda, and Renault emblems were submitted for the first registration in April.

As for individual models, Renault Duster and Toyota RAV4 were the most frequently left car dealerships, just like last year.

Among the new passenger cars that were registered as being made in Ukraine (they are included in the overall rating), the leader in the first quarter was the Skoda Karoq crossover (93 units), which is produced at the Eurocar plant in Zakarpattia.

Skoda Octavia (23 units) took the second place. Toyota RAV4 (9 units), which have been re-equipped, took the third position.

The following steps were shared by cars converted by local enterprises for various special purposes (by order of the police, medical services, etc.).

As a reminder, in the first quarter of 2025, Ukrainians and local enterprises purchased 14.3 thousand new passenger cars. This is a 16.5% decrease compared to Q1 2024. Among the brands, Toyota, Renault, and Skoda were the most popular for the first registration.

As for individual models, just like last year, Renault Duster and Toyota RAV4 left car dealerships most often in January-March.

In this part of the car market in the first quarter, the capital was the leader in terms of the number of cars purchased. This is due to the large number of people, businesses and government agencies with their own fleets, as well as leasing companies that register vehicles for themselves. Kyiv region was second in terms of volumes, and Dnipropetrovs’k region was third.
