The number of millionaires has increased in Ukraine

The number of citizens who declared income of more than UAH 1 million in 2024 increased by 6.6 thousand to 17 thousand, which is 63.4% higher than in 2023 (10.4 thousand).
This was announced by the head of the Tax Service of Ukraine Ruslan Kravchenko on Telegram, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
“In total, more than 17 thousand people declared incomes of more than one million hryvnias. In total, millionaires declared income in the amount of UAH 253.6 billion, and UAH 8.7 billion of tax liabilities were determined to be paid. And one of the residents of Kyiv has determined a record amount of his tax liabilities on personal income tax and military duty to be paid to the budget – more than UAH 4.6 billion,” he wrote.
Kravchenko added that more than 53,000 people have taken advantage of the right to a tax rebate and will receive UAH 330 million from the budget. This is an increase of UAH 36 million compared to the same period last year.
In total, in 2024, Ukrainians filed 170 thousand tax returns and declared UAH 326 billion, which is UAH 107 billion more than in 2023.
Based on the results of the declaration, citizens independently determined UAH 8.1 billion in personal income tax (PIT) and more than UAH 1.5 billion in military duty (MD) to be paid.
The largest amounts of income declared by citizens last year were income from abroad – UAH 34.2 billion, inheritance and donation – UAH 13.6 billion, income from the sale of movable and immovable property – UAH 6.8 billion, investment income – UAH 4.9 billion, other taxable income – UAH 4 billion, and income from leasing property – UAH 3.4 billion.
