Diesel prices have changed in Ukraine: what you need to know
13 November 21:45Prices for diesel fuel in Ukraine are falling in small wholesale. This is reported by Komersant ukrainskyi with reference to the publication NefteRynok.
On November 11, the average price of diesel fuel for road deliveries amounted to UAH 43.52/l, which is UAH 0.20/l (-0.5%) less than on Friday. The price decline continues for the third day in a row. At the same time, since the end of October, the price of diesel has increased by an average of 0.85 UAH/l (2%).
Meanwhile, in Europe, the spot price of diesel fuel fell for the third day in a row last Friday. Thus, diesel quotations in the ports of Northwest Europe decreased by $9-11/t (or 1.3-1.7%) to $675/t, and in the Mediterranean – by $8/t (or 1.2%) to 683/t. Since November 5, the decrease reaches $26-28/t (3.7-4.0%), depending on the basis of shipment.
On the contrary, the NBU says that the increase in the excise tax on fuel (which took place on September 1, 2024 – ed.) will lead to an increase in gasoline prices of up to 9%. This decision has already led to a rise in the price of liquefied gas and a slight increase in gasoline and diesel prices.
In September, the overall growth in fuel prices slowed to 6% yoy due to low oil prices and large stocks at gas stations. However, the NBU forecasts that as stocks are depleted and excise taxes are further increased, as well as the hryvnia depreciates, prices could rise to 9% by the end of the year and remain high in 2025.
