Baby food with toxin found in Ukraine

Baby food from a well-known manufacturer with a toxin was found in Ukraine: the batch will be destroyed. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the State Consumer Service in Lviv region, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
It is noted that the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) received a report on the detection of ochratoxin A in baby food exported from the Republic of Finland (manufacturer: Suomen Nestle Oy) to Ukraine. In this regard, specialists of the Lviv City Department of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection conducted an unscheduled inspection of the recipient’s warehouse facilities.
“According to the results of an unscheduled state control (inspection), it was found that the specified food product Gerber Vegetable and Meat Puree with pieces “Italian Lunch” for children from 10 months. Sterilized” (batch No. 4304012001 with an expiration date of 30.10.2026 and batch No. 5029012001 with an expiration date of 29.01.2027) was sold to market operators in Ukraine,” the statement said.
The Main Directorate of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection in Lviv Oblast decided to recall and withdraw the product from circulation for further destruction.
