Emergency power outages have been introduced in Ukraine today, 29 August. This was reported by Komersant ukrainskyi reports with reference to the Ukrenergo Telegram channel.
Emergency blackouts are in effect in the following regions:
- kyiv city,
- Kyiv region
- Cherkasy region
- Chernihiv region
- Zhytomyr region,
- Dnipropetrovska oblast,
- Kirovohrad region,
- Zaporizhzhya region,
- Kharkiv region,
- Sumy region,
- Poltava region,
- Donetsk region.
This means that the stabilisation schedules for power outages in these regions are not currently in effect. The cancellation of emergency blackouts will be announced later.
The reason for such measures is the depletion of the power system as a result of missile and drone attacks by the Russian Armed Forces in Ukraine.
