During a training flight, a plane crash occurred, killing two cadets of the Kharkiv National University of the Air Force named after Ivan Kozhedub. This was reported on the university’s Facebook page, Komersant ukrainskyi reports
The crew was flying a Mi-2 multipurpose helicopter.
“Investigators, specialised experts, and specialists from the special commission of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine are working at the scene. The command of the university and the military unit is fully contributing to the detailed analysis and establishment of the causes of the accident. We express our condolences to the families and friends of the victims. This is a painful and irreparable loss for all of us,” the statement said.
The press service called for refraining from assumptions and comments, for understanding the disclosure of sensitive information, and for following established procedures and ethical standards until the results of the investigation are made public.
The university did not specify where the tragedy occurred.
