This is the tenth vote of the parliament to extend martial law and general mobilisation.

The Parliament approved President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s decree “On the extension of martial law in Ukraine”. The decree was supported by 335 MPs.

Parliament also approved a decree extending mobilisation for another 90 days, until 14 May. “323 MPs voted in favour.

On 5 February, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a draft law on approving the presidential decree “On the extension of martial law in Ukraine” and a draft law on approving the decree “On the extension of the term of general mobilisation”.

Martial law in Ukraine

As you know, on the morning of 24 February 2022, Ukraine imposed martial law for the first time in its history after the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

Since then, the Verkhovna Rada has extended martial law and mobilisation nine times since the beginning of the war.
