Mobilization and martial law extended in Ukraine

Martial law and mobilization have been extended in Ukraine until February 7, 2025. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed laws extending martial law and general mobilization. This is evidenced by the cards of bills 12151 and 12152 posted on the website of the Verkhovna Rada, Komersant ukrainskyi reports

The martial law and mobilization will be in effect from November 10, 2024, to February 7, 2025.

This was the 13th time the law on martial law was signed.

It should be noted that the Verkhovna Rada extended martial law and mobilization in Ukraine on October 29.

During a meeting of the Rada, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksandr Lytvynenko said that more than 160,000 people needed to be mobilized.

“A total of 1,050,000 citizens were drafted into the Defense Forces. It is planned to draft more than 160,000 people. This will make it possible to staff military units up to 85%,” he said.

Martial law and mobilization in Ukraine

on February 24, 2022, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the introduction of martial law throughout Ukraine. The Verkhovna Rada voted in favor of martial law.

On the same day, due to Russian aggression and the introduction of martial law, restrictions on traveling abroad for men aged 18 to 60 began to apply in Ukraine.

Since then, martial law and mobilization in Ukraine have been repeatedly extended.
