Despite numerous power cuts, Ukrainians continue to actively choose electric vehicles as their main mode of transport. The demand for electric vehicles has increased by 38% since July last year. This was reported by Komersant ukrainskyi with reference to Ukravtoprom.
In July, 4787 battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) were added to the Ukrainian fleet
It is noted that the share of new cars in BEV registrations was 21%, up from 17% last year.
According to Ukrautoprom, the bulk of the electric vehicles registered during the month were passenger cars – 4684 units (new – 980 units, used – 3704 units).
Out of 103 commercial electric vehicles, only 6 were new.
TOP-5 new electric vehicles in July:
- HONDA M-NV – 239 units;
- BYD Song Plus – 127 units;
- NISSAN Ariya – 118 units;
- VOLKSWAGEN ID.4 – 88 units;
- ZEEKR 001 – 69 units.
TOP 5 first-time registered electric vehicles in Ukraine:
- NISSAN Leaf – 529 units;
- TESLA Model 3 – 433 units;
- TESLA Model Y – 419 units;
- TESLA Model S – 217 units;
- VOLKSWAGEN e-Golf – 209 units.
In total , since the beginning of the year, more than 29.2 thousand units of vehicles with battery power sources have been registered in Ukraine for the first time, including: 20% new and 80 used.
As a reminder, the European Union has imposed tough temporary duties on imports of Chinese-made electric vehicles.
Duty rates range from 17.4% to 37.6%, depending on the manufacturer. SAIC Motor Corp. (MG manufacturer) will face the highest duty of 37.6%. Geely (owner of Volvo Car AB) and BYD Co. will receive additional fees of 19.9% and 17.4%, respectively. Other electric vehicle manufacturers in China that cooperated with the investigation will face a weighted average duty of 20.8%. Companies that did not co-operate will face an additional 37.6% duty.
Most of the new electric vehicles imported to Ukraine came from China.
