According to him, this year’s repair campaign was of strategic importance. During the summer, scheduled preventive maintenance was carried out ahead of schedule, which further contributed to the stability of power supply in the most difficult times for the power system.

“This is an unprecedented success and result. All available nuclear units are ready to carry the load in winter. I thank the Energoatom team for their efficient work. Nuclear generation is the backbone of our power system, and thanks to the professionalism of nuclear engineers, we are entering the heating season with the highest level of readiness,” Galushchenko said.

Galushchenko added that on 9 October, 11 days ahead of schedule, Energoatom took another power unit out of scheduled maintenance at one of its NPPs.

Energoatom CEO Petro Kotin confirmed this information.

“Nine Energoatom power units operating in the territory controlled by Ukraine are ready to operate in the autumn and winter. All scheduled maintenance activities at the power units were completed ahead of schedule, including the key stage of reloading the power units with fresh nuclear fuel. Thanks to the prompt and professional work of our nuclear engineers, we will confidently go through the most difficult period for the country and provide light and heat to Ukraine and Ukrainians,” Kotin said.
