The United Nations has expressed concern over Russia’s new missile attack on Ukraine, calling on both sides to de-escalate. This was stated by the press secretary of the UN Secretary General, Stéphane Dujarric, Komersant ukrainskyi reports citing Le Monde.

Dujarric called Russia’s use of a new intermediate-range ballistic missile against Ukraine a new alarming development.

“This is all moving in the wrong direction,” Dujarric said.

The UN representative called on all parties to the conflict to de-escalate. He emphasized that further escalation of violence will only increase the suffering of civilians and create additional threats to international security.

As a reminder, Russian terrorists launched a missile attack on Ukraine in the morning of November 21. Ukraine believes that the city was hit by an intercontinental ballistic missile.

Later, Russian dictator Putin said that it was not an intercontinental missile, but a medium-range ballistic missile “Oreshnik” that was launched in response to the strikes by American and British weapons on Russia.
